CHANEL - Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour

So the day that i went into Boots to buy a Chanel lipstick was a happy one. I never buy any high end make up, and if I do, it's normally bought with my boots points (as was this purchase!). I had heard a lot about the coco rouge ultra hydrating lip colours, and I decided that I wanted a pretty but neutral colour that I could wear every day.

I decided to go with the colour Cecile, which is a gorgeous pink that looks very natural on the lips. This is definitely a 'my lips but better' shade, which is exactly what I was looking for. The lipstick itself is quite shimmery, which I don't normally love in a lipstick, but this one isn't too in your face. It's very subtle and works very nicely. I have been wearing this with my No7 Lip pencil in nude, which enhances any neutral lipstick beautifully.

As the name would suggest, it is very hydrating. It feels more like a balm than a lipstick in my opinion, which I love in these cold winter months when my lips are horrible and dry. I could wear this all day, and it won't wear out nastily. I think it's well worth investing in a really good quality lipstick that you can rely on for every day. I'm so glad I decided to go for this one! Some of the others shades look quite appealing too. I may go for a bolder colour next time. 

Overall, I have to say I am pretty head over heels for this lipstick. It's classic, and just makes me feel pretty when I wear it. I would definitely recommend you go and treat yourself to some Chanel!  

Maybelline Creamy Mattes

Who doesn't go crazy over a matte lipstick? I very rarely go for anything other than matte to be honest with you, i think that they just look classic and gorgeous. When i saw the new creamy matte range from Maybelline, i had to grab some. I've been a big fan of their lipsticks in the past, and thought these would be no exception.

I picked up two shades, a gorgeous rosy red (siren in scarlett) and a deep plum (divine in wine). The darker shade is definitely my favourite. It's a great bold colour that gives me a 90's vibe. The red colour is also amazing, it gives a nice red lip without being too in your face. 

As for the lipstick itself, they are just as creamy as they claim to be. Amazingly soft on the lips and feel very moisturising. The only thing i would say is that they don't last on the lips for that long a time, but the colour payoff is excellent and they are lovely and pigmented.

MAC Satin Lipstick - Captive

Today I thought I'd do a post about a new MAC lipstick that I've come across that I've fallen in love with! The lipstick is a satin finish in the colour 'Captive' which is a lovely plum colour.

First of all, Captive is a gorgeous colour that is quite bold but i feel like it could also be worn as more of an everyday lipstick with the right look. I think it's a great colour that would suit most skin tones so I would recommend to anyone.

The feel of this lipstick is lovely. It's so soft and creamy. It feels quite moisturising and not drying at all, it's not the most moisturising lipstick I've ever worn but it is very good, I feel very comfortable with it on my lips it doesn't feel thick or heavy on at all.

The lipstick is a satin finish which is quite matte but has a slight sheen to it which I love. I prefer the look of matte lipsticks over any other but I think this variation is perfect. The satin finish lipsticks by MAC are my new favourites, I love this colour, I can't wait to get more.
